Kyle Ilcisko
Hello, My name is Kyle Ilcisko and I am currently an elementary art teacher at three Elementary Schools in Lorain, Ohio. I currently teach at Larkmoor, Garfield and Washington Elementary Schools and I actually became an art teacher by accident.
I originally Graduated from Kent State University in 2004 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I was hired by Lorain City Schools in the same year to teach Second grade. With pending Layoffs, due to the financial situation of the district, ... read moreI was presented with the opportunity to teach art for just 1 year in order to save my job. My mother had taught art for 35 years and she was one of the best teachers I have ever met. I figured she could help me along for that one year. I took the opportunity and LOVED IT! My students were very successful and I found a sense of freedom and excitement in teaching art that I had not found while teaching second grade.
This happy accident convinced me to go back to school and take art classes in order to add art education to my teaching license. After I took the 30 hours of classes I needed and passed the Praxis Test for Teacher Education in the Area of Art Education, I became a real Art Teacher! I recently recieved my Master's degree in Educational Administration from Cleveland State University.
This is my 7th Year teaching, and my 6th Year teaching art and I love it more and more each day. I have some amazing students and I am inspired by them every day. I have been looking for a way in which to share their amazing work with the rest of the world. I am excited to have discovered Artsonia and I look forward to sharing my student's artwork with you. I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I do.
