Kelly Williamson
Hello! Welcome to Riverview's Artsonia page. I am Ms. Williamson (or Ms. W) the proud art teacher of the Riverview Rockets. This is my 14th year teaching elementary school art, and in my opinion, it is the best job around. Art teaches us how to be independent thinkers, develops fine motor skills, and broadens our worldview. Therefore, art is a vital part of your student's education. I ask you to join me in encouraging your student's artistic growth and exploration this year. Artsonia is a great tool to st ... read moreart conversations with your artist. A good place to start is to ask your artist what the story is behind their work. We often read books for inspiration and explore the stories of famous artists to get our ideas. All art tells a story, including your child's!
As for my story, I am a graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC (Go Blue Hose!) and hold a Masters in Art Education from the University of South Carolina. I have traveled the globe and like to incorporate my past travels in our art lessons. Some of my favorite places that I have been includes Greece, China, and Scotland. I love seeing the masterpieces of the world in person! I live in Fort Mill with my husband, my stepdaughter, baby girl, and my orange cat named Steve who I tell quite a few stories about in the Art Room. He has become very famous among the Rockets! Thank you for stopping by our Artsonia page! I am looking forward to another great year with my Rocket Family!
