Courtney Cotton Abbott - parent volunteer
Courtney in an artist and mother of three young boys based in Denver, Colorado. She is s huge advocate for arts in education and volunteers with reading and art in the community and at her childrens school as time permits.
 
Dana Kilcoyne
I am currently student teaching and anticipating receiving my Art Education K-12 teaching license in May of 2012 from the Metropolitan State College of Denver. I obtained my BFA from the same institution in 2008 with a concentration in Painting and Art History.
I love sharing my knowledge of the arts with students, and I am an avid supporter of the enhancement of the arts in education.
As a future teacher of the visual arts I feel it is incredibly important that I continue creating my own work as an artist so that I may continue to change and grow along with my students.

When I first began my student teaching experience at Slavens I was nervous and well a little scared. I had observed in classrooms but never taught a lesson. I was quickly put at ease thanks to the supporting staff and students. I could have never asked for a better cooperating teaching, Timi.
