Cynthia began working with and teaching children art and athletics in 1997 through city based community programs. This work continued through the 2008 and culminated with the position of Art Director and Summer Camps Director for Roswell Area Parks and Recreation.

Cynthia has been involved in judging the Reflections contest for PTA; judging for the Roswell Photographic Society shows (state-wide and local); and has been an invited artist in a number of gallery events. Her students have had their work chosen to be shown at the following locals: Fulton County Board of Education Building; Roswell Starbucks; Roswell Visual Arts Center; Milton District Art Show; Roswell Public Library
Donna Staten comes to Gattis from Temple ISD where she was an art specialist for 22 years. Her students were recognized at state, national, and international levels numerous times. She has had 85 winners in the prestigious International Children's Art Exhibition, judged in Japan, including 11 Gold medals and 2 Supreme Gold medals. Ms. Staten has been recognized many times by Crayola's Art-in-Education Program. She was also the first ever "Camp Crayola" director for Binney & Smith. She has spoken at state level conferences and is published in Arts & Activities Magazine. She has curated a number of international art exhibits and is listed in Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in Education for her work with art education.
Ms. Staten's students have been exhibited at these locations: Crayola Factory, Easton, PA; US Dept of Educ. Bldg. and the Caring Institute, both in Washington DC; EPCOT/Disneyworld; IACA World Awareness Children’s Museum and the Empire State Building, both in New York; Texas Governor’s Office; Texas Capitol; Springfield, Utah, Museum of Art; Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and many universities. Internationally: Russia, Czech Republic, Japan, France, Romania and other countries.
