The professional qualifications I have acquired throughout my teaching journey have given me the ability to provide students the opportunity to express themselves through art. I have experience in three different school settings. Different stakeholders that I have worked with have taught me different techniques: therapists, students and staff. These different approaches to learning situations can provide every student an opportunity to access and excel in art. I have been an art teacher the past 3 years at ... read moreDeltona Lakes and have worked in NJ with students with disabilities ranging from the age of 3 to 21. I have acquired skills in listening through verbal responses, switches, communication devices, picture prompts and yes /no devices and this ability has broadened my understanding that everyone has a choice. Part of my educational philosophy is that literacy and math, fine motor and gross motor, all play an important part in art lessons. Every student inspires to be as independent in their art lessons to the best of their abilities when encouraged, supported and inspired. I truly love my art field and achieving goals with the students. The teachers’ role is to find a solution, discuss the expectations and follow through with a plan for greatness. My goal every day is to provide students and opportunity to unleash their imagination in the art room. I look forward to collaboration lessons with Technology and Music. I hope that parents and guardians register their students so that their creativity can be shared with family and friends across the miles.
