Laura Schultz Laura D. Schultz is the art teacher at Young Women's Leadership Academy in San Antonio, Texas, working with grades 6 through 12. She is also a visual artist who works in cut paper. Her personal art works hearken back to mythology and legend, paradoxically exuding both power and fragility. Ms. Schultz earned a MFA in fiber and mixed media from John F. Kennedy University, and a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin. Though a native of San Antonio, Texas, she has traveled widely in Latin America, Euro ... read morepe, and the United States, living for a number of years in Alaska and California. She returned to San Antonio in 2001, where she maintains a studio. She also teaches art at Alamo Colleges, and several local art museums. When not teaching, Ms. Schultz loves to be in her studio, or out in the garden with her two rescue dogs and her teenage son, digging in the dirt and planning her next international trip.
