Dawn Flory
Hi. My name is Dawn (Flory) Babylon. I grew up in Covington, Ohio and moved to Troy when I married my husband in 1991 and after many years I moved back to my home town of Covington in 2022. I graduated from The School of Advertising Art, where my focus was illustration and advertising. I then worked for a number of years designing and doing artwork on tombstones and monuments (I know, interesting). I had the privilege to design the veterans memorial in Piqua, I even got to do some of the sandblasting.

It was important that I stay home with our four children while they were young, so I took some time off from the daily routine of a "job". I have four adult children... two girls, Kaitlyn and Meredith and two boys, Landon and Jaiden. Time sure flies. I love snuggling with our three miniature dachshunds (Bella, Sable and Willow) and our silver lab Ellie. I also enjoy music, being outdoors, working in flower gardens, spending time with my church family, riding on the back of a motorcycle and doing almost anything creative.
I also teach art at the Miami County Cooperative Learning Center and the Troy Hayner Cultural Center.
This is my eleventh year teaching at TCE. I am blessed to teach in such a wonderful environment. I currently see each class in grades K - 6 once a week for 40 minutes. We squeeze in a lot of learning and creativity in a short amount of time. Students are learning the elements of art and the principles of design. We also talk about art in cultures, famous artists and their styles, and careers in the art field. Plus lots and lots more.
There are so many sweet and talented students at TC, it makes my job easy and I am happy to come to work every day. There is just a special feeling in this building, you know it when you walk in the door.
