Hello! My name is Mr. Hamernick. I taught all visual arts courses at SPSV from 2000 to 2008 and did the job I love every day. I developed and taught curricula to sophomores, juniors, and seniors. My art courses aimed to provide experiences in several areas of art by integrating a variety of media and techniques. I also incorporated reading and writing to intensify learning. Most students enjoyed my classes and the great thing is most students took pride in doing their best. I found happiness by creating a s ... read moreense of community in the art room, socializing with students, laughing at their jokes, playing music, and joining in the fun when I could. While at SJSU, I took classes in studio art, art history, and art education. Additionally, I studied European art and social culture by backpacking throughout France, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Netherlands, Great Britain, and Ireland. Because 2008 was my first year showcasing student art on the Internet, I took the liberty of featuring artworks made by both current students and those who graduated prior to the 2007-2008 school year. I also made an effort to exhibit art from other non-art classes on campus so that students could see the natural connection that the art makes to other subject areas. Thank you for visiting Artsonia. Please don't hesitate to send students positive comments regarding their art and/or join their fan clubs.
