Barbara Ives

I have been teaching art at St. Thomas More School since 1980. My BA in Science and Math is from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas.

I teach art from a scientific viewpoint where we are constantly exploring and experimenting . I teach Pre-K -8th grade for 45 minutes each week. I encourage my students to do real art, that is art where the eye, hand, and the heart work together in its creation. I tell the children that I teach them to see and then they can magically draw anything.
