Biography

I graduated from UNI with a major in elementary education and a minor in art education as well as a Masters in Effective Teaching from Drake. I am married with two children, and two german shepards. My children are Cowles alumni and now enjoy bragging about their education at their current schools (Bondurant-Farrar High School and UNI). I enjoy reading and do some photography on the side. Our family likes to camp and kayak during the summer.
It is my pleasure to teach at Cowles Montessori. The students are creative and intuitive. The parents are supportive and fun. The staff is amazing.
Our art studio is a Choice Based Classroom, it is designed to align with Montessori philosophy as well as meet the standards of the Des Moines Public Schools, State of Iowa and National Visual Arts Standards.
