I think my favorite part of this work was the books I had drawn. From the beginning I had a lot of trouble with the concept of Still Life, but in the end, I found it very enjoyable, and found it to be a style I really liked. My least favorite part of the art was the orange. I felt as if it could have been better, and I'm disappointed in myself with it. The inspiration for the artwork was a simple Still Life display set up by my art teacher. If I were able to create the artwork again to change it, I would have gone about approaching the artwork a bit differently. I would have worked harder on the orange, for I find it an abysmal display of uncaring on my part/ I learned concepts of Shadowing, Shape, as well as Form, to name a few while I created the artwork. I was surprised that I did so well on the artwork. I was very proud of myself when I had finished the folds within the fabric as well as the books. I never thought I would have been able to do it.
I had started out with the books, drawing a base line to figure out where the books were to be placed. After the books were done I went on to the pumpkin, got that sketched out, then the orange and the folds. Once the basic shapes were drawn out and proportioned correctly, I started on the darkest points of the shadows, and went lighter and lighter where it needed to be.written by Leesa19
