Millard South High School
Omaha, Nebraska
Welcome to the Millard South High School visual arts gallery on Artsonia. Thank you for visiting and supporting the arts. The money generated through Artsonia will help purchase art supplies for the MSHS art department! We have a fabulous department! Offering Art Foundations, Drawing, Advanced Drawing, Painting, Color and Design, Commercial Art, Art History, Pottery, Advanced Pottery, and Advanced Studio Art Class for 12th grade students only. Still thinking art is just an extracurricular activity? Art class may be one of the only areas where many students can excel. It is a place where they can feel free to explore and express their ideas. We need to teach students how to unleash their creative thoughts and ideas in a way that benefits our society. Fortune 500 companies seek out creative employees. Every child deserves the right to be taught by a professional art educator. Instead of cutting the arts, money should be raised to increase the number of art educators and supplies for every school.

my favorite part of this art is the flower pot on the right side closet to the viewer. i love flowers and being outside but becuase i had to make a "room" so i turned a room into a greenhouse using the two things i love flowers, and being outdoors.

This is a slab construction out of clay. I was very excited to do this piece. I chose this word because it is very inspirational to me. It was fired and then I modged podged on animal print tissue paper. Then to emphasize what the word is I outlined the lettering with a pold paint pen. I went through alot of things with this piece. It broke in multiple places in the kiln and then I dropped half of it and it shattered; although you can not tell. I am very pleased with how it turned out.

My inspiration on this piece of art was the famous Disney movies lion king and Tarzan while at the water hole. With the elephants. This art is elephants at a water hole relatively like the movie and kinda dancing to a song... I'd like to say 'circle of Life'.
