Welcome to the I.S. 218 visual arts gallery on Artsonia. Our art program is a multi-media, interdisciplinary art program that include literacy across the curriculum. Lessons include studies on Picasso, Klee, Klimt, and Calder and units of study include Asian art and U.S. history and art. The art program works closely teachers and administration to formulate a standards driven art curriculum that combines art production, history, criticism, and technology with the goals and needs of the classroom teachers’ curriculum and with the overall vision of the school itself. Students write and distribute a monthly newsletter to the community and create their own school yearbook. Students participate in many service learning projects, including painting murals around the school building. Please enjoy our art gallery and thank you for visiting and supporting the arts. The money generated through Artsonia will help purchase art supplies for the school.
