Recent artist statements ...
probably my favorite part about this piece of art was the complexity in drawing each individual pencil feather, but it was also the hardest. I chose a wood pecker made entirely of pencil because of the irony involved. although how much I enjoy this piece I would change the wings due to how simple they are. after this creation I learned your imagination can come up with anything and that I could do this even though it was hard. Finally to create this art work it was simple. All I had to do was change certain parts of the picture into pencils.

i love to use the shading with pastels it make me think of how the flowers were to look is they were real.
