Welcome to Triangle School's Virtual Art Room. Environment: Kindergarten students receive 30 minutes of visual art instruction approximately 30 times a year or less. 1st thru 4th grade students receive 40 minutes of visual art instruction approximately 30 times a year or less. Philosophy: Art Can Be Learned Reading and writing is involved! Our first writing experience is drawing (scribbling) and the first symbols we read (the alphabet) and understand are images (pictures). Self expression, aesthetic qualities in skill and presentation are other aspects of art. It is important to avoid experiences where only one method is taught or the environment is overly critical. Art is more that just a pretty little picture. Therefore, I use Artsonia as a working portfolio for Triangle students. All work is posted, homework, rough copies, and completed works of art. My goal is that students can look to Artsonia at anytime in their life as an art resource.
