I made 4 different animals 2 of each animal and cut them out one of each animal was colored and the other wasn’t, I then panted the background green with a sponge. Doing one animal colored and the other not made my identity theme. My work is suppose to show that what you look like is part of your identity and if you were to take that away your identity would be different. This is showed by having one animal colored and one not, showing that it took part of their identity away. It also shows that if you take part if your identity away you become a different person. Just like taking away the colors of the animals showed that their identity became different. I used Frida Kahlo as my reference because she used animals to make one of her identity art works.

I used photoshop to make this and my computer camera. This is a photoshop of Kolin, Blake, and me. The message is that friends are important and you always need them to be happy. I didn't get influenced by anybody to make this.

I made the Chicago skyline it shows identity because where you came from is part of your identity and may people grew up in Chicago or even big cities in general. Also even if a person now lives in Chicago but didn’t grow up there it is still part of their identity. I also have a personal connection to my work because family lives. I used the artist Frida Kahlo as a reference her work The Borderline Between Mexico and America shows where she grow up and how it’s part of her identity and also how when she moved America became part of her identity. I use contrasting colors and painted with watercolors in many colors and added silver sparkles for texture. They helped me make my work more colorful and interesting. My art adds to the global world because it shows different cultures.
