Welcome to the Minnehaha Academy Lower School (PreK-5th grade) Visual Arts gallery on Artsonia. At Minnehaha Academy, students begin a comprehensive art education program that continues through all levels, and we begin with the belief that artistic expression is a gift given to each child by God. The Lower School Art program is grounded in the Elements and Principles of Design and filled with a variety of age-appropriate art experiences. Students will work with a variety of drawing and painting tools, sculptural materials such as clay and paper mache, weaving and fiber arts, book arts, collage, and multimedia. Many of the art activities are interdisciplinary, and students have the opportunity to make connections to other academic and fine arts areas including social studies, math, science, literacy, and music.
