WMAES Spring Art Show 2021!

Students have put in great effort with their art at school and at home this year! They've applied their knowledge of the Elements of Art, Principles of Design, and  Art history while expressing their love of nature, care of others and self expression. It is always an honor teaching my amazing artists and seeing them grow throughout the years! Thank you, parents for all of your fantastic support this year with your support at home and with donating supplies! We couldn't have done it without all of your help! This year, students:
Painted Mama Maple using expressive lines, value, texture and space
Drew and painted pop art donuts
Drew and collage line design pop art inspired by Basquiat
Drew and painted self portraits inspired by Kehinde Wiley  
Sculpted and collaged Alebrijes inspired by Pedro Leones
Sculpted earth sculpture dragon dens, fairy houses and Alebrije homes
Drew and painted radial design flowers, inspired by a student's henna tattoo 
Drew and painted Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus  

Painted and collaged Emus inspired by the story Edward the Emu
Painted flower pots and wrote kind plant puns.
Painted Dragon Eggs
Folded Origami
Drew and painted favorite characters & favorite animals and wrote positive messages for the world to see inspired by the story "Say Something," by Peter Reynolds
