This was really just a fun piece to create. Since the theme was Americana, I wanted to do something with stars, since there's fifty of them on our flag, and thanks to my teacher, I was able to produce four different colored stars. When I was deliberating on what pattern I should create, I glanced over to my star cut-out and then I was like, "Oh, of course! I can connect the points!" And out of that came my "Four Stars" mosaic.

The blue sections are necessary to make the painting pop, and because of that, they are my favorite aspect of my painting. My teacher had us experiement with tape to create stripes, but when the paint had dried, it just didn't feel complete. I felt like my painting wasn't complete, so I decided to paint splatter it. Thankfully, it turned out to be a great decision, because I'm definitely proud of the outcome.
