VSA arts and CVS Caremark All Kids Can invite you to submit artwork showing your child's or student's creativity! Explore new activities, rethink your perceptions, discover yourself as an artist, and submit your art today!
Theme — "State of the Art"
The United States is a country made up of many cultures and environments. How do you fit into your community and what makes where you live unique? Is it the landscape or the people around you? What about a tradition passed on from your family? What can you say through your artwork? Consider all the questions when depicting your environment. Be creative and share a glimpse into your world!
Visit www.vsarts.org/allkidscancreate for some sample activities.
Art Teachers — Receive $1,000 for your classroom!
By submitting your students' artwork to the All Kids Can...CREATE! call, you are eligible to receive $1,000 for use in your classroom. Up to five $1,000 awards will be distributed. The number of submissions from your class or school, the number of submissions from students with disabilities, and your answers to two short questions will all be taken into consideration.
Students — Be a part of a national tour!
Each students' artwork will be featured in an online gallery and considered for display in a national touring exhibition that will debut in Washington, D.C., in June 2010. The exhibition will be on view during the month of June and will feature one piece of artwork from every state and the District of Columbia.
Thousands of visitors and participants from all over the world will have the opportunity to view the exhibition and browse it online. All submissions to the call will be included within the exhibition in an interactive kiosk display even if they have not been selected for the touring show.
In February, 2010, each
VSA arts state affiliate will select two representative artworks to be sent to the
VSA arts national office. However, only one artwork from each state and the District of Columbia will be selected for the exhibition. The 51 selected artists will be invited to an opening reception in Washington, D.C.! While in Washington for the opening reception, these young people will have a chance to join in the largest celebration of the arts and disability in the world: The 2010 International
VSA arts Festival.
Who can submit?
Open to children, ages 5-15, living within the United States (all 50 states and the District of Columbia.)
