Aubrey's flare for hidden messages in her works is surely apparent in this masterpiece. The sequential fish display the numbers 4-5-2-3-1, but translate those numbers into corresponding letters and you've got D-E-B-C-A. Then add the colors of the fish, LimeGreen-Erythema-Teal-TrifoliateOrange-Indigo, and take the first letter of each color: L-E-T-T-I. Put it all together and the message is clear as day: DEBCALETTI. Why yes, it makes perfect sense that author Deb Caletti is an inspiration for this piece. Like Aubrey, Deb also depicts the conflicting nature of humans and animals in her art. You may know the "Rabbit and Duck" illusion by Ludwig Wittgenstein, but are you familiar with the "Jackalope and Platypus" illusion by Aubrey4600? Some viewers claim the piece is clearly showing a duckbilled platypus, but turn it the other direction and others will say that it is surely a yellow-antlered Jackalope. Either way, the black etchings in the southeast corner speak volumes: are they tasty niblets going into the Jackalope's mouth, or are they a levitating crown on the head of the king of the Platypodes? So many questions, but only Aubrey knows the answers. -- Basil

I put your phrase "Tole iz neleto poley" into Google Translate and found that it means in Russian "Tole from non-flying fields." This particular turkey - so wild and fancy-free - is surely rising above his flightless brethren and taking to the skies.
