Thinking about the events of the last year...the swirling chaos you are showing with the soft almost fading colors...then a splash of gold...I think I hear that trumpet you mention in your comments. Love it...Love you

Another very detailed work! I like the way you are exploring using shading, too. And the window is so bright. It really draws the eye!

What an interesting mask you have made! I have a photo of a mask like that which your father made!

I love the way the colors look in your painting! Isn't it interesting to watch as the colors lighten as the spread out from your brush...and then when the colors bump into each other they can darken and change!

I wondered if you had learned the story of the 'blue willow' design on plates? I have some pieces with that design in the old house! I love the blue on white in your design. Had you ever thought about the designs on the dishes and household items around us? Your work reminded me to look more closely at things!

This is your still life pitcher and fruit with modeling clay. I think working with clay is so difficult. You did a great job!

I really love the still life pitcher and fruit. I can see the pears, and the colors in the wallpaper. Your pitcher looks great.

Terra Cotta Warrior. You told me the story of these brave warriors. I can see how you made your warrior out of model magic, it almost looks like he will come to life!!

What a fun and happy collection of shapes to decorate your pumpkin! This looks like you had a good time as you put your picture together!

This reminds me of what many artists call a 'Still Life'. It looks like you used blue paper to make a background for a red table and a rounded shape to represent something on a table top! Sometimes people have a hard time seeing the shapes of things that they are used to seeing every day! You seem to have a knack for being able to do that! I hope you enjoyed making your picture, and I hope you enjoyed learning about other artist's work!

Oh Oliver! You did a wonderful job of representing Cinderella's carriage! I can see the pumpkin changing into a beautiful coach right before my eyes! Did you do this after enjoying the story of Cinderella? Did you know that there are stories like Cinderella from places all around the world? I wonder if in places where they don't grow pumpkins, if they use something else, like a grapefruit, perhaps, to be the base for the magically transformed coach!!! I so enjoy being able to see your artwork, Oliver. I hope you enjoy your art class!

Oliver! Snowflakes! We had snowflakes dancing down when we were in Minnesota before Christmas, but now we are headed for Florida and the only snowflakes we can see are the ones in your artwork! Your snowflakes are beautiful! And just like real snowflakes, every one is different! I felt like your snowflakes were lazily drifting down from the sky...Keep up the great work!

Hi Oliver! I just saw your paper weaving work and I especially liked your choice of colors! Orange and yellow are such bright and cheery colors! I have made placemats using paper weaving. After you finish with the weaving you can laminate the placemat so it won't get ruined if you spill something on it. Are you going to do that with your project?

Your leaves are so pretty and you cut them out and arranged them to look as though they were being blown right off the tree by a gentle breeze! I am glad you are enjoying making art for all of us to see!

Hi Oliver! I love your painting called 'chameleons'. Do you remember that I have a book about chameleons and a toy chameleon? Your chameleon looks like he had been sitting on some pretty autumn leaves!
