You enjoyed this temporary application of Henna to the skin. I learned it is from the culture of India as well as the cultures of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. It is temporary and in those cultures is known as Mehndi and we know it to not be perminate. It consist of turmeric paste and sometimes Mehndi and is meant to awaken the inner light in ones being.
