I created "Peppers in Pointillism using markers on a 9'x10' matboard. I have displayed a green pepper propped up against a yellow pepper which is on it's side. A red pepper is leaning dependently on the yellow peppers right side (opposite the green pepper). The peppers and pepper stems created organic, 2-D shapes. Altogether, this created illusions of space in overlapping (creating shadows), placement (the green and red peppers being further back in the visual plane), and values (fading colors for light and using compliments to darken). My color scheme was red, yellow, and green, with complimentary values being purple, red, and dark green. Principles of design that I used were informal balance, creating asymmetry. The focal point of the design is the yellow pepper because of its brightness and placement in the focal plane. The places that your eyes are directed to are where the edges of peppers meet. My work is overall unified by the objects and technique that is consistently use
