Dear Luke, That’s the greatest big brown eye ?? I’ve seen in a long time. The coloring and shape is perfect ??. I also love the eyelashes you put on it. It actually looks like it’s looking right at me. Keep up the good work honey. LOL ??

Hi Luke. I suspect someday soon we will see a woman on a division 1 college football team. Mema is probably right about the field goal kicker position. Maybe she will play for Ohio State. Great job in representing a woman athlete playing football in your art project. Miss you. Happy Halloween ??. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Luke. Your dream house blueprint certainly shows how you like to spend your free time. The XBOX is oversized, so that seems to be your favorite game to play. I especially love the Chargers and Cowboys details on the football field. Papa and I enjoy listening to your baseball games on Game Changer. Love and miss you. Grandma

Hi Luke. You did a great job elongating your sculpture. It reminds me of stretching my candy taffy when I was little. Your use of papier-mâché and paint made the sculpture look exactly like metal. Is it perhaps a football player? Miss you. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Luke. Football Fundays are back. Great idea to make a football origami box for your Kindness Project. Kindness can be shown even in the rough and physical sport of football. I learned that I can show kindness anywhere. See you soon. Love Hugs, Grandma

Dear Luke, I think that you’re favorite is Ohio State and Nicky. But I don’t think anyone could win a Super Bowl by themselves. Even if you are the best. Takes team work! Always remember that honey and I know that you know what fun it is to be a member of a team. I love the drawing, keep up the great work. I love and miss you ??

Now this assignment must have been your last project at Monroe. I don’t have a description of the assignment, so I am guessing your four abstract portraits represent different civilizations you created. Even if I am wrong, for sure you successfully repeated the same bold color palette throughout the project. Very nicely done! Happy summer, Luke. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Luke. Lately, your art work has been making me hungry. I remember your tomato not long ago. At least I guessed a tomato. Could this food be a strawberry or another version of a tomato? I love the bold red and black. Job well done. Love Hugs, Grandma

Dear Luke, I think your super hero food could be a tomato or strawberry, although I’m leaning towards a tomato. Either one grows best in lots of sunshine as seen by its bright red color. It looks like your super hero might have super vision because I notice the special glasses. Very creative end of the year art project, Luke. Love hugs, Grandma

Hi Luke, Your cousin Joey should feel very special having his picture on your mug. He has become a role model for young athletes and inspires them to work hard in their sport to be successful. I am sure you look up to him especially when playing football. This mug might be the first one with his picture on it. Love Hugs, Grandma

The mug of hot cocoa looks so good that I would like some right now. The mug is great with the shadings and I love the one ?? little marshmallow that got away. If that was a real mug know who would have eaten that marshmallow.

Wow Luke. This seems like a very complex art project. I certainly recognize what is important to you, pizza and playing games. Since the football is quite large, it must be just about your favorite sport to play. I , also, love both. Great job again. Miss you. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Luke. I bet you had fun making a donut ?? out of paper mache. If I were to guess what flavor the donut is , I would say chocolate with blue ( blueberry) icing and a black glaze. Now the toppings could be different candies. It looks like a donut made especially for fall and so real that I can almost taste it. Great job! Love and miss you, Grandma

Hi Luke. You continue to create super artwork. I believe you painted a bedroom with bunk beds. I see a picture of a school bus. I think if I were sleeping in the top bunk and looked at the bus, I would dream about school. I am wondering if that is a fish bowl on the tablle. Your dad had bunk beds in his bedroom. Papa and I miss you. Love, Grandma

Hi Luke, This artwork definitely makes think of summer. The yellow sun makes me feel the warmth of summer. The blue reminds me of the beaches I visit in the summer. I see a yellow dock with green posts where I can dangle my feet in the cool water on a hot summer day. Your scene makes me feel summer happy. Papa and I are excited to see you next weekend. Hi Luke, I hope my guess is correct. I see Luke holding up a soccer ball. Therefore, you should be holding a book about soccer. I enlarged your book's cover. I think you drew a soccer field. Hi Luke, your bug jar reminds me of jars I used to collect lightening bugs. My friends and I spent many summer evenings collecting them. Your bugs look like extra terrestrial bugs that just landed on earth. They could have come with ET. Your details are exceptional, especially the air holes in the lid and the spider web. I am especially happy seeing a bug jar because it reminds me that warm weather is not far away. I loved spending time with you and your sisters this weekend. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Luke, It looks like music is coming from your blue monochromatic guitar. I would imagine it is loud rock music because blue paint is splattering over the checkerboard background. Hi Luke, What a perfect art assignment for the apple picking season. Apple picking is a favorite fall activity in my town. Papa loves this time of year because I make him homemade apple pie. Hi Luke, I love your birds nest. I especially love your colorful eggs. They remind me of robins eggs. A bird made a nest in my hanging flower basket one summer. I had to stop watering my plant so I wouldn't hurt the eggs. After the eggs hatched and the birds flew away, I had to buy a new plant. Your nest and eggs remind me of that nest. Great job again! I can't wait to see you. Love, Grandma

Hi Luke, Your Koi fish look very happy swimming in the multi shades of blue water. They look like they might be playing tag. Are you studying Koi fish in school? You chose bright fun colors. Since this is football season these colorful fish make me think of the Black and Gold Pittsburgh Steelers and Jake's team the Black and Orange Cincinnati Bengals. Perhaps the Koi are playing water football. As usual, your artwork is super! Happy Thanksgiving. Miss you. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Luke, I am guessing your illustration might be based on a book about a pigeon. You are a super artist. I like that you made a pretty blue pigeon. I would like to be around your pigeon. Illustrations are pictures that show the words someone writes. Your picture shows your sentence, "Don't let a pigeon fly a paper airplane." Great job! I am excited to see you in a couple of days. Wow, Luke, this painting is spectacular. Your cherry blossoms look just like the Cherry Blossom Trees in Washnington DC. Papa and I saw them in person one time. They are magnificent trees. Your tree reminds me of them because you covered it with so many beautiful pink blossoms. This is a perfect spring art assignment. I wish I had a Cherry Blossom Tree in my yard that looked just like yours. Your art work this year was A+. Your paintings and drawings always made me feel happy. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Luke, is that you on top of the Earth? Maybe this is a self-portrait. The boy seems to be the leader or protector of the Earth making sure no harm is done to it. Earth Day reminds me to take care of the earth so future boys and girls can enjoy their planet. And there will continue to be grassy fields for young boys and girls like you to play baseball and get big hits just like you. Your Earth looks like it is traveling in the sky. Great color choices. It looks like your beehive is full of honey. Your bees might be honey bees. The bright yellow and black colors make me think of yellow jackets. They leave a very painful sting. I guess that is why they scare me. I think I see pointy stingers on your bees. Your artwork is fantastic as always. Love Hugs, Grandma.

Hi Luke. I looked up Jim Dine's biography. He is called a Pop Artist. He often painted hearts, but they did not look like ordinary Valentine hearts. He used lots of shades of color with designs in his hearts. I saw many of the Hearts he painted. Mr. Dine would give you an A+ on your painting. I love the many different shades of beautiful colors in the designs on your heart. The background blues, purples and greens really make your heart stand out. Your painting would be a great cover for a Valentine card. If I could I would give you an award for the best example of a Dine Heart. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Luke! Your groundhog looks just like Punxsutawney Phil, the famous groundhog from Pennsylvania who comes out of his burrow every February and predicts how long our winter will be. This year he saw his shadow, so we are supposed to have 6 more weeks of winter. With all the snow we got in New England I believe he is right. I love the details in the painting. I can see the man in the top hat in the background. The ceremony in Punxsutawny always includes men in top hats. Did you know I was born and grew up in Pennsylvania, and your dad was born in Pennsylvania? I bet you have a lot of fun in your art class. Great Job again! Valentine love hugs, Grandma
