Zoey - Awesome job on your weaving project! I love the bright colors! I used to have a small loom when I was your age, and I made a lot of woven coasters and stuff; then when I got a LOT older several of my friends had big looms and we did some real weaving (beautiful scarves and runners and all sorts of things). I even learned to spin wool (we had an antique spinning wheel) a long times ago, but I don't think I could do it now. This is something fun that you will be able to do for many years to come. Excellent job, Zoey! Paul Cezanne was one of my favorite artists, especially his still life works. Did you enjoy studying his paintings? I have always liked doing multi-media pieces like what you did, with painting and crayons and paper - I think it is fun to use lots of different materials. Maybe that's why I like doing stained glass so much, what do you think?

Yay, Zoey! I love the bright colors! I think you were studying the artist Paul Klee when you made this picture - he was one of my favorite modern artists, too. I love big bold shapes and bright colors like this. I like to take pieces of paper and arrange them to make pretty shapes just like you did - that is kind of what I do with my glass. If you guys come out here this summer for Matthew's wedding, maybe I will show you.
