This is so swirly and fancy! Have you ever thought of adding color to it? I think it would be amazing with it!

This one is so unusual. It looks oriental to me because of the shape and the background color. Way to go, Gretchen. Keep up the good work, you creative girl, you!

Gretchen, I like the way the pink background radiates out from the flower. It accentuates the flower as the crowing beauty!

Hi Gretchen~ I love the detailed work on your beautiful drawing. You have really captured the world of this fish...I can see how the frilly fringy fins give the impression of floating in water. Uncle Tom and I have a blue fish in a big bowl in the middle of our kitchen table: Deja Blue has his meals with us, and swims to the side when we are near. His long silky blue fins look just like your drawing. As Dory, Nemo's blue friend said: "Keep on swimming!" Love from Love from Auntie Beth and Uncle Tom.

I really like this particular flower picture. The flower looks almost like it's surfing in the sunshine, the leaves remind me of arms balancing to catch the sun. The dark dots remind me the surf spray or on a flower maybe little flying insects like gnats and bees.

Gretchen, it is when you do work like this that I know you are on your way to better and better artistry. To be successful at new artwork, you have to try new shapes. Boy, did you do that here! Keep up the good work. Your horse has a lot of character.

And this one was super fun-you turned a worksheet into a piece of art. Every time I saw it on my desk its vibrant colors made me feel happy. Way to go, Gretchen. That reminds me of a time a few years ago when I taught the students of that year to paint. We then put their paintings up ALL OVER THE WALLS! When I walked in it felt like LIFE-THEIR LIFE-vibrant and fresh. That's you too with your work, Gretchen.

Gretchen, there is something different about this image. For one thing, it's your background. It is very measured and precise and bold. I like the new look! Keep it up! This one shows real development. I can't wait to see what else you do this year and beyond.

I think it's great when the sun is silly! I'm so glad to know that the sun has a clown face. A clown face helps the sun from being too serious because we all know being too serious is just SOOOOOOO boring!

I like this tree a lot! It looks like it should be in a storybook about a place where the trees grow with many levels so all the creatures who live there have a safe place to call home.
