Artist Statement: This is a self portrait of me. I made it in first grade. In my opinion this self portrait is not as good as my other self portrait from second grade. In this picture I am at the fun house. I made myself at the fun house because I enjoyed playing there. My shirt has a butterfly and flower on it. -- Sophia

Artist Statement: This picture is titled "Monkey Bars". I made it using tissue paper and black paint. I chose this scene because I had to put colored tissue paper on a white piece of paper and not leave any white areas. Then I had to paint a picture on what I like to do with black paint. I liked to go across the monkey bars so I painted that. This picture shows me climbing across the monkey bars. -- Sophia -- Sophia

Artist Statement: This picture is titled "Family". I made it using oil pastels and paint. Each building represents a different family member. For example, there's a dog on the left, then a momma, then a son and then a cat building. On the right, there's an orange/green momma dragon building in the middle, a yellow/blue papa dragon behind her and a smaller pink/purple daughter dragon building in front. I also included a sun and moon to represent that families are families through day and night. -- Sophia

Phia - "Monkey Bars" is one of my all time favorites! I have such fond memories of you loving the monkey bars and the tremendous smile on your beautiful face when you finally made it across. This is a great and wonderful representation of those days. I also love the happy colors! - Mommy

I like butterflies, flowers and trees. I especially loooooooooove Sonic the Hedgehog so that is why he is on my shirt.
