Great use of color and mixing organic shapes with geometric shapes to achieve a pleasing composition. Nice to see use of paper medium to create a piece of art.

The wonderful thing about art is it means different things to each person. The striking contrast in the color palette of the background as compared to the foreground subject immediately spoke to me. I saw the background as a thundering, powerful waterfall with a dark and stormy sky while the heart, although caught in the dangerous cascade was bright, like the dawning of a new day. I interpreted it as despite all the problems we face, hope, love and faith see you through. A very engaging work that I enjoyed. Watercolor is a very difficult medium to master and work in. For such a young artist this work does not display some of the most common wash problems and has some nice charging and softening effects which indicates that the artist will become very adept working with watercolors.

Very good use of bold color to capture the lighting and subject. Immediately recognizeable as a homage to the great impressionist Claude Monet. A very relaxing piece to view. Well done!
