Hi Sweetie, If I needed a super brain in my life, I would probably choose your math brain. Math is definitely used in all walks of life. A brain man could help me when cooking and baking. He could give me quick measurements when I adjust recipes. I am happy to see you are enjoying your art class. I always loved art when I was in school. Art is a great escape from rigorous academics. Great job on your project. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Amelia, I believe I am looking at a clay sculpture. Now I must admit that I do not know if this is a rock formation or a human. Honey, I need help on this one. I miss seeing your lesson descriptions. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Amelia, I believe this is your first artsonia art project this school year. I see an organic farm map here. Am I right? I'm thinking each colored plot represent organically grown fruits and vegetables. Every plot is well defined with vibrant colors. I especially love your use of color. This definitely looks like a healthy farm. Love and miss you. Grandma

Hi Amelia, Your ceramic food looks real enough to eat. The yellow plate is a great contrast color for your food. Your utensil looks like chop sticks. Are we being served sushi? If this were a Chopped competition, I would give you a A+ for plating. Miss you. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Amelia, I would love to have this tree house in my garden. I would have the best view of all my flowers and the animals playing hide-and-go-seek in them. I am not sure, but are those lights on your tree house? If so, it would make a perfect spot to sleep outside on a hot summer's night and view the stars. Do you think Grandma could climb that high? Great project, sweetie. Miss you so much! Love hugs, Grandma

Hi Amelia, I am not sure what exactly your art assignment was, but I think you were to photograph outdoor subjects. Your pictures were fun and interesting to look at. I would expect this assignment to be great fun for you. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Amelia, Your Snowman At Night project is my first Christmas present. What a treat to open my email this morning to a picture of three snowmen. The blue shades are great colors for a night time setting. The pale moon is a perfect addition to the winter night mood of your piece. Super job! Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Amelia, I love that your teacher integrates content from other subjects with art. It certainly supports best teaching and learning practices. You first impressed me with your watercolor pallet. The purple and blues,to me, represent a very peaceful and healthy invironment for a cell to thrive. The blue could be fluid inside the cell in which everything swims around. Fun imaginative drawings! You may laugh, but the large purple circle reminds me of a pig's face, and the small, black circle the snout, and the curly line at the side its tail. We will see you soon. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Amelia, Great job on your anti-bullying picture. The expression, " i'm feeling blue"' means I am feeling sad. I think your blue figures represent the sadness children feel when bullied. Great color choice. I know you would always treat your classmates with kindness. Your are a loving and kind young lady which makes your family proud. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Amelia. Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side. Your barn painting reminds me of the end of summer and beginning of fall. I see your red barn and think of all the fall activities taking place at barns and farms around the country. You did a great job showing depth in your drawing. I am excited for us to connect this school year through your art projects. Love and miss you. Grandma

Hi Amelia, I love your trumpet. It reminds me of the great Louis Armstrong a Jazz musician from many years ago. I might just have some of his music. Louis Armstrong was one of your Great Grandfather's favorite entertainers. I am amazed how well you succeeded in making your instrument stand out even though the same colors are in the background. Super use of color. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Amelia Now I always research information about the artist you are studying. I learned Klimt painted a piece called TheTree of Life. I can tell you were inspired by his painting. Your spiral shapes and gold color make your tree look elegant and delicate. I guess I would call this painting Amelia's Tree of Life. Super job, sweetie. Miss you. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Sweetie, I think your hand sign is a "V" . Perhaps you are studying sign language. You could say it is a victory sign for your basketball team. From what you report, you must have a talented team that wins many games. Did you make your sign out of clay, or is a painting? If it is a painting, it looks 3D. It is hard to believe that it is not a real hand. Super job with this assignment! Miss you! Love Hugs! Grandma

Hi Amelia, the first thing I did was look up Lichtenstein Art. Well, I learned that this project is an example of pop art. And the project is quite involved with many steps, too many for me to remember. This assignment seems very complex, but much fun. If I'm correct you brought an object from home to begin your self-portrait. The look on your face seems to be one of surprise. I am trying to figure out the connection between "sparkling" and what you are looking at. You must let me know. I am certain that the girl in the self-portrait is definitely my Amelia. See even Grandma learns from your art lessons. Merry Christmas, Sweetie. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Amelia, I would love to see up close the textures in your project. Your subject also looks to be multi-dimensional. The size of her hands make them look like they are extended to touch an observer or audience. I see she is a rock star. She might be performing her hit song, and the hands are outstretched in dance. Has my imagination gone wild? We can talk about this project when I see you. Love Hugs, Grandma

Dear Amelia, Your textured monster is outstanding. I love the big eyes (your trademark) and the little pink tongue hanging out the side of it's mouth. But most of all I love the dimension of the bigger hands extended out in front. You have learned so much in your art program, it's wonderful. I Love You More Mema

Hi Amelia, your Van Gogh chair is better than outstanding. What a fantastic job you did with showing many dimensions of your subject! Van Gogh would be most pleased. For some reason, I didn't receive an email with this piece of work. I had to search on line to find your artwork. Hope in the future I will receive Artsonia email showcasing your artwork. Hi Amelia, I was lucky to see your art project in person with my recect visit. You and your friend Caroline composed a beautiful dandelion sculpture. The yellow and green colors with the earthy brick background are perfect for your sculpture. Including the minute details of the dandelion in seed is especially well done and true to the season. You make the dandelion look like a beautiful flower that I would want in my garden. Love and miss you. Grandma

Hi Amelia, you paint or draw more beautifully with every new assignment. Your chalk drawing of an oversized flower belongs in a frame, in my house. Then during our dreary winter months, I could look at it and feel warm and sunny. It would remind me that summer will come soon. And I love, love, love the color. Ms. Georgia O'Keeffe would be very proud of your chalk drawing. Of course, you make me proud all the time. Papa and I are counting the days until we visit. Love, Grandma

Hi Amelia, I read the description of your art assignment. Your projects are certainly getting more complex as you try to include many elements, often math, in your designs. And I must say you are doing a super job using all the required elements. Most importantly, you said you are having fun. Learning should be FUN! Even the yellow, pink, and orange colors are happy colors. I love the way you attached the pieces to look as if they could topple over at any time. Is that a face on the orange block? If it is, it looks like she is trying to keep all the other pieces from collapsing. You are producung fantastic art with every assignment. Love Hugs, Grandma

Dear Amelia, Great work Honey!! Ilove the colors and the blocks look so real that it looks as if you could pick them up. I love the things your teacher has you do. Sure can't get bored in that class. Hi Amelia, This artwork is quite complex. It is correct to say both you and Audrey are in this piece. As I understand, I get to know Audrey the Ballerina through your eyes. It is great that you brought the fun times at Disney World to art class. Your tiny ballerina in a dance position with one arm extended and one on the hip is definitely Audrey. Your artwork keeps me smiling. Love Hugs, Grandma

Hi Amelia, your desserts look real enough to eat. The frosting designs on your cupcakes are especially well done. I am thinking the dots surrounding your items could be sprinkles. You could compete on the show Cupcake Wars with these cupcakes. I notice you are combining math concepts with your art. Very nice! Love you and miss you, Grandma.

Hi Amelia, when I read that you used watercolors to paint your pumpkins, I smiled because I brought you water colors when I visited you. How appropriate was that gift! You painted pumpkins that look very real and natural as if you just picked them out of the pumpkin patch. They actually resemble some of the pumpkins we saw on our visit to the farm. You should be congratulated on your use of details like shades of orange and lumps and bumps found on pumpkins growing in someone's garden. I also love your background shades of blue , perhaps the evening sky. I wish I had these pumpkins sitting at the my front door. Your pumpkins make me feel happy. Love you, Grandma McLaughlin

Hi Amelia, I see your cheese puff character likes what you like. I believe I see screws for arms and legs. The way you attached them makes Miss Cheese Puff appear to be in motion, perhaps dancing. New this year is your written attachment. You do a super job sharing your thoughts and giving Cheese Puff a personality. Great work, darling. Love, Grandma

Hi Amelia, I see you continue to produce beautiful artwork. I love the colors in your Birch project. It looks a lot like the woods I see outside my kitchen window. The leaves that once covered the trees now lie on the ground like an orange blanket. Papa's favorite tree is the Birch. We lost a couple of Birch trees during a big storm.
