Hello guy! What a wonderful way to celebrate a grand wish for snow in Texas. Your snowman is such a happy guy, his arms are stretched out and he looks like he wants to hug the next friendly person who passes by! Thank you for making such a happy expression of love for snow! Yes, I hope for it to snow sometime too,… meanwhile I need to only look at your precious snowman…I’ll be happy!

That is funny too, Max. Is it a belly-button cookie? Looks good enough to eat!

This little guy reminds me of a tiny “school bus worm”. You might have had some other creature in mind, Max! He is really solid little guy who probably carries tiny little people inside him!

Here is another little character with unusual characteristics which allow him yo fly around with his colorful little wings! He is cal ready in flight! Look at him there with his wings spread….. a. It’s? A plane?…. A big-eyed mosquito bird? You guess!

Oh, my goodness! This is amazing and funny, Max! Is this guy one of the fellows who is armored and protected by his big, green rubber suit? He looks like he might fit someplace in a fast moving video game, except don’t expect him to whiz past…. He might LUMBER by, but you can bet he will not get knocked out of the game…. He is too big and anything that hits him will bounce right off!

This is fascinating because of the similarities between these textures and wood patterns in cross-sections of trees that I have photographed. This might be a rubbing..? Or it’s just made with the edge of your crayon…. But you have captured the rough, woody surface and the many brown zig-zags that might be found on the flat opened surface of a raw tree trunk after it is cut down in a forest. Or, this might be found ON the outside of a tree,.. along it’s bark before it is even disturbed by a saw or a sharp blade. The green could be what we see when we look under a microscope at a deep, smooth, green leaf! These are beautiful surfaces we might find in nature or a forest of rich, green trees.

Hey, Max!.... these beautiful circles round and round are a lot alike in some ways.... but they are also very different in other ways..... when I look up close at the pencil circles I can see that the circle on the left has very soft, slowly circling lines round and round....and the pencil that you used has a soft, black lead.... the circle on the right has rough, repeating circles.... they look like they were made quickly Were you in a hurry? And I have a question for you... Who are the five little people up along the edge of the left side of the page? Is the little one right at the top edge Max? He looks like he is wearing a T-shirt with a design on it! Is that design in one of the circles?

This looks kind of like the trip through the desert picture that has the cactus thorns in it But now, I think it looks like I’m looking into a microscope at a big green ball that has a strand of yellow yarn wrapped around it. I really like the bright yellow too.... where it crosses over and mixes with the green really gives this big ball a dimension that I might be able to put my finger into!

Wow! What a wonderous place this is. If I follow this lovely green path through this desert, I might get lost!.... but hey, maybe not because if I stay on this beautiful green string pathway,... I’ll just end up here on this big, white, page...MAYBE JUST WHERE I STARTED.! You know that on this journey along this string path,.. I might run into a BIG thorny cactus but, I’d just jump over the thorns and pass by the thorns.... then I’ll be back in the wonderful, swirl of all these green pathways! I LIKE this trip in this wonderful desert!

This is a happy drawing! It tells of a young boy who is looking out on a bright world with great wonder and expectation! I agree that his ears are so important. He is a listener and can be really quiet so that he can hear the answer to questions that he asks and so that he can LEARN all there is to learn about a game or a puzzle, or a picture that he is looking at.... I like this young man... every time I see him, he has grown some more and I hope he keeps drawing so that we might keep a record of HOW he grows! His mouth has a smile that says”. I might know something new to tell you!”

I believe you must have know just how to paint this one color, one shape and one pass of your paintbrush at a time! It’s so nice! I think maybe a story about the ocean inspired this, so maybe ocean water is in this painting somewhere!... and maybe a big beach or some shells are there too!.... since tiny shells can be found along a white and gray beach! Some black ones too! But for me,.. you have painted a delicate balance of soft, flower petals and some detailed bubbles along what looks like the outside of a vase of flowers! So sweet a combination of colors!

Ok, I’ll try again. Max, this reminds us of the wonderful pictures in my leaf identification book! If I were a botanist, I’d be looking up the beautiful pictures to match the leaves you have drawn! They are lovely and it’s so nice of you to have chosen three beautiful leaves from your yard and neighborhood to draw and to compare! Good observation and lovely color! I like the red one too!
