Welcome to Fall in the Art Room at Monteith
from Miss Zoufal
Dear Monteith Art Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.  My name is Natalie Zoufal (Miss Zoufal), and I will be your student’s art teacher. I attended Western Michigan University where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design as well as my certification in Art Education. I have a Masters Degree in Art Education from Wayne State University.
To tell you a little about myself, I grew up in Grosse Pointe where my family still resides.  My favorite artist is Van Gogh and my favorite color is blue. My hobbies include sailing, gardening, traveling, and beaches.
I believe that an education including the arts will help your student to achieve in other areas of their lives and I hope to enhance that education in any way possible.  I look forward to assisting your child in their learning of the arts and enriching their education in the arts. The best way to contact me through the school year is to e-mail me at ZoufalN@gpschools.org.

Exciting News!! New iPad Stands!
Thank you to all the families for your continued support in purchasing items on Artsonia, which helps support our art program. At the end of last school year I was able to purchase two additional iPad stands which hold the iPads for our students to photograph their artworks. Our goal is to have an iPad and document stand for each table. Please keep us in mind when purchasing gifts for others and thank you again for your support. The students are super excited!!

What Your Student Needs For Art Class: Art Shirt
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE…

Provide an ART SHIRT for your child to leave at school. This can be an old worn out shirt, and can be used for many years to come for art fun. We work with messy materials and no matter how careful we are, sometimes accidents occur.

Artsonia www.artsonia.com   Student Online Art Gallery
I am excited to announce that we will be continuing our use of Artsonia this year for online student art portfolios. All of your students’ artworks will be photographed and uploaded to our online student gallery. The gallery is organized by projects and grade levels and includes a project description, standards, and title. You will receive an e-mail when new work is posted if you have activated your account. I encourage your family, friends, and others to become “fans” of your student’s artworks, as well as leave comments for the student. A percentage of any purchases made on Artsonia come right back to Monteith’s Art Department. I thank you in advance for becoming fans, interacting with your student and his or her artworks, and leaving comments for your students.

Sincerely,
Miss Zoufal
Artsonia is the largest student art museum in the world! Our dream is that every young artist will have an online art gallery, preserving their masterpieces in a digital portfolio!
