Art Room 206 update
from Angie Bell

  Hello to you all again,

A quick update on what has been taking place in the art room.  This past week, 1st graders finished their patriotic Eagle paintings to display for our Veteran's Day program. I have more on display in our main hall as well.  This coming week, 1st graders will be taking pictures of their Eagles and uploading them to Artsonia!  I can't wait for you to see them, they turned out so great!

Last week 3rd and 2nd graders had a visitor come watch them make sugar skulls on the iPad.  Mrs. Ventura is a consultant hired by RRISD to help us Next Generation Classroom Teachers.  She was very complimentary of their work and she enjoyed their excitement!

The 4th graders last week began artwork based on the Impressionist era.  The first step was to make a landscape background using chalk pastel and I had them paint with water to create a blurry colorful sky, much like the Impressionist painters. This week, we will be using oil pastels to create trees and more chalk to create leaves.

Kindergarten has been learning about Hot Dogs and Cool Cats!  This is a lesson to help them discover the warm and cool colors.  Wait until you see these pictures!  Adorable!

A quick note!  The Art to Remember orders should be shipped sometime next week and I will send them home after Thanksgiving Break.  Thanks again for your support.

If you have not created an account for your student please do so!  You will get an e-mail anytime they upload their artwork!  Not to mention you can leave them notes and comments, you can create fan clubs for them and share their art with family and friends!  You are never required to buy anything, but I do get a portion of the money to buy supplies!

Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving,

Angie Bell
