Hello SRS Families!
Swimming River Artists are busy and back to work in the art room! All grades are currently in the middle of their first project which will be posted on Artsonia in a few weeks.
3rd Grade: Third grade artists are creating visual autobiographies using personal symbols to show and express their interests. They are working on drawing, cutting, and gluing skills within this project. These pieces will contribute to a larger group display later in the year.
4th Grade: Fourth grade artists are working on personal narrative drawings that reflect their favorite outdoor activities and special places in nature. They are working on spacing and adding background details to their drawings.
5th Grade: Fifth grade artists are learning about totem poles of the Pacific Northwest Native American Tribes. Using the letters of their names, they created a unique symmetrical design that they will use as the base of a totem pole inspired collage. They are working on symmetry and composition as well as cutting and gluing.
